Assignment 1 : Step By Step






First, i added all the images. Most of the iamges i found in Google.

After resizing the images using free transform, i added border to the flowers using stroke. The rest of the images i used drop shadow.

Selection using pen tool, I applied greyscale to KL Tower by using Hue/Saturation.

Resized the flag using free transform.As for KLCC, I applied this technique :Select -> Colour range this is to remove the black background colour from the original image in order to get the building only.

I used image rotation -> Flip canvas Horizontally for the hornbill. I changed the colour of the font by using Hue/Saturation and drop shadow.
As for the background i also used Hue/Saturation and stroke for the border.

Most of the techniques that has been used was learned from the tutorial videos.

Choose image #3.

by using paintbrush, i changed the background color to greyscale.

then by using pentool for the path, i adjust the hue/saturation to colourize the jeans.

the same technique goes to the bag and also the car boot
i added bumper sticker. resized the image by using free transform and used gaussian blur.

Assignment 1 : Project Charter

Project Objective

To apply the techniques used in Photoshop to create a postcard with the theme "Malaysia, Truly Asia." The focus will be on Malaysian culture, food, buildings and different races. Thus, this project is to promote the tourism industry altogether.

Approach

I will be using various photos and images that will be taken from the internet and also some personal photos. The images will then be edited by using Photoshop CS3.

Tools that im going to use such as marquee, blur, crop, lasso and smudge.

Idea

The idea of this project is to show the positive side of Malaysia in promoting the country.
Therefore i will have some of the most beautiful scene in the country such as the paddy field, the waterfalls. Other than that, i will also include different races and food. Most importantly to have the Malaysian flag as well. I will use Times New Roman as the font.

Roles and Responsibilities

First Phase : To sketch the idea and search for the images in the web.

Second Phase : Images are being edited and rearranged in the postcard.

Third Phase : Consult Mdm Lydia.

Fourth Phase : Final touches are made. Print the postcard.

Fifth Phase : Submission.

Comment

I will do my best in completing the assignment. Apart from that, i am new to the use of photoshop and still lack of editing skills but i will learn as much as possible.

Assignment 1





Students are to create a multi-cultural event for a post card. The theme would be “Malaysia, Truly Asia” which is the official slogan for Malaysia Tourism. Students are to show the multi-cultural aspects of Malaysia culture or life as a positive feature to attract tourist into this country.

Students are to use their blogs in Computer Graphics 1 to create the process, from ideation, sketches, references, use of tools and final output.

Grading for this assignment:
For the idea
For the use of tools
For printing quality

All students must create their blogs accordingly. Anyone without any blog containing the required documentation will severely affect their assignment marks or may even get a 0 point. Therefore, all students will need to create this to show their process of development for assignment.


1. No blog or entries relating to the creation of the assignment will be deemed as not following the assignment requirement and will be severely penalised.
2. Students are to submit their assignments to the Group Leader only. No late submissions or wrong submission. Course submissions requirements will apply.
3. Students are to submit the original PSD files (DO NOT FLATTEN THE FILE) together with the images used in the postcard. Call the file StudID_asssignment1.psd
4. Place the files in separate folders. One folder containing the PSD file called Postcard. The other images used are to be placed in a folder call Postcard_ref.
5. Any deviations from the requirement will result in deduction of marks.
