Asssignment 2 : Step By Step

First step, i created a background using gradient. Then to get the lighting effect, i used render > lighting effects.

Next, to get a texture effect, i used a crumpled graph paper image and reduce the opacity to get the colour effect on the paper.

I arranged the objects accordingly. Before that, i changed the colour of the objects by using blending > colour on each of the objects.

Next i drew the rainbow using lasso tool. By applying gaussian blur on the rainbow i get the natural lighting effect.

I add fonts and adjust the size and position them accordingly.

On the open day font, i used stroke effect to get the outline.

On the Faculty Of Engineering font, i used drop shadow and adjust the setting to get the natural shadow effect.

I followed the steps in the video.


For the first background, i used render > clouds . play with the colour and levels.

For the second background, i used render > fibers. For the lighting effect, i play around with render > lighting effects.

For the last background, i repeated the same steps as the second background. I changed the colour and drew stripes using lasso tool.


The next step is to create chrome effect on the font. By using several steps such as stroke, calculations, gaussian blur, to get the outline of the font.

To create the chrome effect inside the outline, i used the 20 dollar bill image.

By applying gaussian blur and adjusting curve i get the chrome effect. Then i add layer mask to the font.

Next, to create realistic shadow, i made another layer of the font, fill it with black, and apply gaussian blur. as u can see on the bottom left of the font, the shadow has soft edge. I used motion blur to get this effect.


Finally, i play with the colours and try using different backgrounds to get a suitable 70's like wallpaper.
